Voltas prioritized zero disruption to operations during the transition to the cloud. After evaluating multiple options, they found Microsoft’s Azure VMware Solution to be the best fit due to its scalability, compatibility with existing applications, and advanced security features. The migration involved moving over 250 on-premises VMware applications to Azure, and despite occurring during a peak business period, the transition was completed seamlessly with no reported issues.

Since migrating to the Azure VMware Solution, Voltas has expanded its cloud presence from 0% in 2022 to 60% in 2024. This transformation has led to significant benefits, including reduced capital expenditure, enhanced operational efficiency, and a 99.99% reduction in unplanned downtime. The cloud infrastructure has also allowed for faster deployment of virtual machines, improved cybersecurity posture, and greater agility in managing digital resources.
